In March, visual arts students from the Academy for Performing and Visual Arts at Heritage High School took a field trip to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. As part of the exhibit we were able to view works by contemporary artists Fahamu Pecou and Jose Parla. Upon return to campus I communicated with both artists through their websites in hopes that one of them would SKYPE with us. Fahamu immediately communicated with us and arranged for a visit to our classroom. He shared work from his recent GRAVITY show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Atlanta and talked about his life, influences, and future artistic pursuits. What an inspiring talk! Fahamu - ART ON!
